: I've been following your posts on the 1010 below, and I was curious, was your family dealership a 2 store JD/NH retailer in eastern N.Y. till about 1974 or so? If so, my family was one of your customers. I now work at the NH (formerly Ford) dealer in town. We were Disbrow Equipment Co. In both Pine Plains and Copake, NY. I'm not sure exactly when the Pine Plains shop closed, but it was in the late '70's (just before I graduated high school in 1979). The Copake shop stayed open until 1981, as a Ford dealer. The reason we quit was two fold: The farming was slowly dying around the area, and John Deere decided that we needed a really nice, new, building for the dealership. My Uncle, who owned the shop, told JD that it was a really bad move. JD insisted, so he told 'em something else. JD wound up talking Riva (a CT dealer) into putting up that new building in Millerton, NY. It nearly cost them their shirts.... I get the feeling you work at Pine Plains Ford Tractor...........
