You know how those industrial carts and similar are popular for coffee tables and such now, they bring a few hundred dollars retail, kinda the same effect on the finish, I suppose you could cut the excess off with a solvent, to take down the oily-ness, but retain the effect, I notice things like that too, love looking at wood, especially when doing firewood, wishing I had a mill or something for some logs or pieces. I have some spalted maple that the guy behind the counter at the saw shop buys from me for blanks on the lathe, offsets the cost of what I buy there.
