Good info at the above link. It doesn't cover everything, but does cover the most common stuff.

The other common thing, if you pull the plug on the filter/strainer housing at the bottom of the transmission, do you have oil or ice? Oil and filter is good, but if you didn't put on new gearshift boots, you have water/ice in the bottom of the sump again.
