On reading, unless I am reading directions or computations, I do a quick scan of the paragraph for the main content then go to the next. Lot of literary work contains a lot of chaff.
Example:

VS: I enjoyed your interesting mind teasing test. Whomever devised it must have had adequate idle time to consume. I was able to accomplish satisfactory goals in all the different formats to my satisfaction. The letters and numbers were quite confusing and one had to dwell on the subject matter to some extent to grasp the intent of the originator. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would look forward to doing similar exercises in the future.
Seems the news media use the latter and after all that bla bla they said nothing of importance.
