I am a SD Tahoe owner. Burb before that. Why do you think there are so many of them ? They run forever. Easy to get 250k on original engine and tranny. Inexpensive. You can go out and find half dozen of them tomorrow with about 140k on the clock, for less than $7000. Powerful. They can tow more than most all other SUVs and a lot of pickups. Cheap to register and insure. Go anywhere. I put tall narrow studded tires on all corners for the winter and drive around all other stuck vehicles (that are blocking the road).Keep your foot out of it and get 17mpg. More on newer 5.3
