Then when something does go wrong you haven't taken the precautions that would have prevented injury.
It's like the rule about firearms that you never point the muzzle at anything you're not willing to destroy. You'll get away for a long time without injury if you ignore this rule but if you happen to be violating that rule the one time something goes wrong the results may be horrendous
