When I was in high school, every fall we had an FFA-sponsored game hunt. On a Saturday during hunting season, our whole FFA class would get together, pick teams, and have a contest to see who could bring back the most game. The was a school event, blessed by the teachers and school board. About a week later, we would eat the game. Imagine how the school board would cringe today not only by the liability of firearms, but also if somebody got sick from eating the game. About a year ago at this same school, my kid had two teachers try to expel him because he took in a 30-year-old stick with a clothes pin on it because it was a "GUN!" that had the capability to shoot a rubber band. They weren't worried about the danger of a kid getting his eye put out, they were worried about the "GUN!" in his book bag.
