For what you are going to use it for a 8N would be a great choice, great little machine, reliable, and easy to work on.
Like so many others here have stated the parts are easy to find and implements are easy to come by, just aboput every farm and ranch store will have implements for it.
I have been running N tractors since I was a kid and still have a 2N and a 8N. I have seen only 2 that were turned over, one was due to a guy running down the road not paying attention and run off in a deep ditch, the other was a neighbor going across the top of a dam on a stock pond and the side of the dam gave way, neither operator was injured very bad.
Just like with any tool, if you use it within it's limits it will do a good job for you and last a long time.
Not sure if this is correct but I wouldn't be suprised if there are more N tractors handed down through the generations than any other kind of tractor.
