That reminds me, a few years ago a lady I know was admiring my recently fitted kitchen. "I wish Dave and I could afford a kitchen like that!" she said ( rather waspishly).I replied "Er, how many cigarettes do you and Dave smoke per day?" (cigarettes are very expensive in the UK ) she said they both smoked 25 per day, so I said "Well you are spending ten pounds per day on cigs, 70 per week or 3640 per year. Five years cigs would have bought you a nice kitchen" . She was not amused .
