I was just out of high school when dad passed. Being a teen we were not that in tune with each other, but I was coming around. At his funeral some 300 people showed up. Given I knew maybe 30 of them, mostly relatives, I had to ask my mother who was who.
Turns out that the majority of them were people he did business with. To this day I still wonder just what kind of person you had to be to have that many unrelated folks take the time to come see you off.
As for me becoming him, in some ways, I hope so........
