You know, I've heard that before. I would like to see Mythbusters see if that was really possible.
Hard to believe something shrinking a few thousandths of an inch could cause a pyramid of cannon balls to fall.
If that stack were that fragile, wouldn't the rocking of the ship cause them to fall?
Why would they be stored in such a way to start with? I've seen them that way in pirate movies, but really? Wouldn't that be asking for trouble? A bunch of cannon balls rolling around at the worst possible time, as in a battle or storm...
