Did you clean the rock catcher attached to the fuel filter housing?
I suspect your CMP (cam position sensor) is going out. Its possible for it to be going out and not set a code. It NORMALLY will set a code, but sometimes it does not. If the CMP is "loosing its way", it will cause intermittent run problems that correct themselves after re-starting.
