That is so true, I've heard that quite a bit over the years, the actual cold, the weather the climate or similar, when its a virus that initiates it, then the weather/climate/conditions make it worse, you had it before then.

While I'm not a fanatic, I try and make barriers between things, door handles, and that gas pump handle is top of my list, always use gloves. Its a protocol to live by. Proper rest, nutrition, whatever it takes to keep your immune system up to par, helps immensely. I avoid sick people, escape and evade crowds or someone coughing, like some weeks back in the TSC across the road, I was with a friend, he noticed how fast I put distance between someone coughing and hacking that was not covering up, spores, droplets from sick people I can do without. I firmly believe it helps to minimize occurrences. I have like most, suffered through so many common colds, I think you get to an age where there are repeats, you don't get sick as often, or you are better at taking care of yourself. Having to work when sick is an absolutely miserable rotten experience, it plain sucks, and some bosses, or situations do not care about it. It too makes me one mean S.O.B., hate that, and have had to work through most times when I was sick, just hate it. Some are worse than others. Yogurt is another immune system booster, I always have that in the fridge.

Its hard to avoid these colds when you are exposed to so much of it, or the weather suddenly warms up, seems there are more germs when that is the case. One thing is for sure, if you have been exposed, wash those hands but good, don't touch eyes, nose, mouth, might just avoid one if you do.

JD- get well, it sounds like no fun, I was seriously ill fall of '12 with a lot on my plate to do, sure is a real drag, went on for weeks, was mono, that'll knock you for a loop for sure !!!!

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
