Turn engine so that the points are open then take coil wire off distributor hold it where it is about 1/4 in from the block. Then take a screw driver and short across points several times the coil should fire every time you break the connection. If so then check other parts of system. Points condenser plugs wires some where you have a broken link it could even be at the main switch so check for voltage at coil with switch on. It's just a matter of starting at the battery and follow the power to the plugs. Some place along that line you will find a break or short. Walt Ps its like fixing a sprinkler that doesn't work follow the water from the source until you find the problem.
