Condensers almost never go bad they are either good or bad right out of the box. If you have a machine that sat for say a week and now does not have spark good chance that the points are corroded from sitting. Most of the time when and engine is shut down the points sit closed which caused the problem with them corroding. Clean the point and good chance the spark will be back
