I used JD hy-gard and had no problems. Switched because of price. Then used mccormick htx hydraulic oil. Got a decent price and after switching to that the dealer went out of business. So I changed to Mobil Fluid 424 from an Exon supplier. Good price first year. Went up next 2 years. Got higher than JD hy-gard. So I did some searching. I contacted Cat and am able to buy Mobil Fluid 424 from them for $30 a pail cheaper than the Exon supplier. So I'm sticking with 424. Tractor has wet clutch packs and hyd. shuttle so I stay away from the yellow bucket deals. I'm on the 3rd season with 424. Seems to suit the tractor well.
