Would it be cheaper to trade trailers? I have an OLD Load Trail that is about 34' long that has about a 4' beaver tail. Some one put hyd ramps on that were about 8' long for hauling something with tracks. It has bushings that the back axles pivots on. I bought it for $2K and spent another $250 on a 3" oak floor. We use it for a nurse tank with a 3200 gallon tank and chemicals. It is heavy and had outriggers.
When I started hauling machinery again after I got out of the Army in 1966, A guy by the name of Jim Shives at Melvin, IL I think, made a combine trailer out of channel and angle iron. One of first around. Bud Taylor who I worked for at Mahomet had one. They were flimsy but worked.
