First year we moved to the "new" place, we had no barn or feed bunks. I'd put small squares in the manure spreader, then tie the steering wheel down on the Oliver 1550, put it in first under, crawl into the spreader and throw out the hay.
After an inspiration, I took the back beaters off the spreader, then lined up bales end to end and took the strings off- then just drove the tractor with bottom spreader chain engaged, and it spaced the sheafs out real well.
