I got some helpful advice about coolant heaters a couple of weeks ago either here or on the Farmall forum. I got a lower radiator hose heater for my 300 and today I used it for the first time. It was 16 F and the tractor started on the first spin and ran smoothly. I am very happy with it. I filed my taxes this afternoon, which was not nearly as satisfactory but at least now it is done.
