Similar to Rick Kr my neighbour has a JD 51 backhoe mounted on an IH 574 tractor (yes thats a discussion in itself). It is mounted on a sub frame that was fabricated to mimic the mounts that Deere had on their crawlers and industrial tractors. This makes it an integral unit, not one flopping around on the 3 pt hitch.It mounts with two J shaped hooks at the bottom and two pins at the top. To remove/install you drop the stabs. and the bucket to take the weight off the tractor, pull the pins,push the hoe up out of the jaws with the stabs.and pull the hoses out of the couplers.I would bet its on and off quicker than a 3 pt rig.
