A lot depends on if they are ground hog holes or armadillo holes. The ground hog holes are pretty big and deep and can break a leg be it man or animal. The armadillo holes I have run into are small but still make a mess. If armadillo hole a simple drag harrow etc work well if ground hog holes then they are both hard to fill in and keep filled in. If a ground hog hole sometimes a couple smoke bombs will kill them off then filling becomes easier
