that sounds like a broken wrist. Buddy of mine broke his in a fall where he tried to catch himself by putting his hands out. Had pains with it for a year but didn't seriously hamper him. Noticed he couldn't throw a baseball near as far as he usually did & it hurt to throw. After putting up with it for a year, on a trip to the Doc about something else, he mentioned it. X rays showed it broken but healed. Had to re-break & cast, then ok.
