Pop had 2 D-500 Doge dump trucks with 16 ft. racks and 318 gas motors. He reguarly drew 13 tons of bagged fertilizer on them. The state started cracking down on overloads and he decided he maybe outta weigh a loaded truck. Needless to say he was way over legal rear wheel weight. He tried 12 tons and threw a ton of bags forward and was still over wieght, so he had to go down to 11 tons to get legal. In those days he got $3 per ton to truck fertilzer. He was not a happy camper having to lose $6 per load.
