I recently came across a picture of me with my best show heifer from the 50"s. A pretty horned hereford heifer, looks just like your photo.
However, it is amazing how the cattle have changed over the last 50 years. Almost no herefords left around here and the "real" farmer next to me runs about 100 head of high quality angus heifers in the big field next to my little farm. I told him the other day that any heifer in that field was better than the Grand Champion at the county fair in my cattle showing days.
