Some 35 years ago the City of Garland, TX. had a WPA styled revamp of the city square. Was sort of a park at the time. Not the county seat.
They came in and excavated a big recess in the center and bricked the whole shebang including a ledge around it and brick walk encircling the project. Park benches and trees adorned the lower area.
On the North side, somebody messed up the calculations going from East to West as there are about 6 more bricks on one side vs the other. Real obvious once you notice it. So the square is no longer a geometric square.
