Dad had a 1968 Ford 3/4 ton and it had side boards that he hauled grain to town. That truck held a 100 plus bushels of corn would be close to three ton. Father in law had a premix sales business back in the 70s and he used Ford 150 trucks. He would put air shocks on them and would haul three ton on those trucks from the terminal 80miles away never had a problem.
