I was asked to list PART # of the DRY SLEEVE in my JD "D". Sleeves were produced by MELLINGS SLEEVE # CSL 578 (Number used in 2007) Cylinders of block were bored and honed to have a .002>.003 interference fit with OUTSIDE Diam. of SLEEVE # CSL578. Bore of block was not bored all the way through. 3/8" from the bottom there was a lip left in block bore. Block was then heated (temp stick/ looks like a crayon) to 275>300F. Sleeves were removed from deepfreeze and carefully placed into bores. A heavy piece of STEEL (20 lbs) was placed on top of each SLEEVE as sleeves can Creep due to the evacuation of moisture trapped between the sleeve and bore. Sleeves bored and honed. Sleeves arrived from supplier with an inside bore 6.720 +/-.005" Bob/Canada
