Blackhole, I fail to see your connection between crop insurance and landlines. No Government agency is telling me I have to have a landline telephone, but if the Michigan law is enacted, the Government would be telling its citizens that it CANNOT have a land line. In my case, I have it for convenience and safety. BTW, although I live in a very rural county, we do have enhanced 9-11, it cannot fix the location of a cell phone, but it can for a land line. Perhaps land lines do cost more, but I am willing to pay the extra cost for this service. BTW, will Michigan be installing enough towers to provide reliable service to all parts of the remote regions of the UP before cutting land line service? If so, would that not be another case of the state Government mandating private companies how to manage their product?
