Doesn't matter, GPS, Mapquest, whatever modern device you use, going anywhere to the south of me, "from your address, turn left on North Hollow road, 150 yards, turn left on Sawmill Road, etc., etc., blah blah blah. Trouble is, my neighbor took out the bridge at the foot of Sawmill Hill with a load of corn silage, in 1962 or thereabouts. The bridge was never rebuilt, the town threw up the road, and the man who lived across the brook built a barn right on the old right of way. But, that five hundred feet or so of missing road doesn't show, even on newer maps, unless you look for it pretty carefully.
In a similar case there are actual paper maps that show a road through a gap in the mountains to the north of my place, but don't mention that you should have a horse, four wheeler or log skidder to negotiate it.
