This what you are trying to do, but attaching it to the blade on your tractor?? I can use my winch on any trailer that I own and also on all my trucks, as you can see I use a separate battery and used long battery cables to provide power for the winch. I have the factory control cable, it is only 18 gauge wire, at the most. I had to replace the toggle switch in control,it is momentary on, center off, single pole, double throw. (MOCOSPDT)
sounds to me all you need is a momentary on single pole single throw switch, since you are going to power in and free spool out.
You defiantly want to use a momentary on switch, as to when you release pressure on the switch it automatically go to the off position. Or like was stated , just use a starter push button.
