It was winter and my grandfather had just passed away, so Grandma went to stay with my mom for a couple of weeks in town. Roads were thawing and muddy, so with nobody at the farm to take care of chickens, dog and cats, I would drive out on the tractor after school to take care of things.
The Ford 8N tractor that I was driving to grandma's house got buried to the wheel hubs in the middle of the road!

I went and got another 8N, chained it up to the back of the first one, put the first one in reverse at idle speed, got on the second one and pulled out of the mess. I was out in the middle of nowhere, and had no one to help.
Redneck ingenuity, I guess.
