When I was a kid and the school bus got stuck, the oldest kid on the bus was sent to the nearest farm house... Now for further explanation... The call would go to Mich-Con gas company. They would send out a big boom truck with a V-plow to haul us out... Mich-Con was a large natural gas supplier. This area has many old abandoned gas wells that they piped together. They have a large compressor station here. Summers they pumped gas into the gas field, winters pumped out for consumers in the big cities. They had the big equipment so's they could access any of the field in any weather. Often we were plowed out by the gas company hours, even days before the county plows made it here.
