According to what I have read, the first diesel truck in the US had a Buda. It was put in a logging truck in the early 30's. While I'm typing this I'm looking at a picture of a 1940 Ford single axle semi truck with a Buda 6-DT-317 engine putting out 75 HP. Gross weight was 60,000 pounds. They must not have planned on getting there fast. Jim
