Yes, upsetting but not a prank. It has happened to me a coupla times which taught me to check the nozzle before and put it in the car or truck and before I press the select button. However that is the instructions. Short cuts can be fatal. When I fill I unlatch the nozzle before placing it back. Putting it back without unlatching the lever is another short cut. As it gets colder more people will be taking short cuts at the pump.
