Your wrong. The latest numbers from USDA say for every BTU of input, be they oil,NG, coal or other fossil fuel, used to grow, transport and convert corn to Ethanol, you get 33% more BTU's out than you put in. The fact that Ethanol has less BTU's per allon means nothing, as they are not comparing gallons to gallons,but BTU's in to BTU's out. The 33% gain is from the free sunlight that grew the crop.
