I was a long time customer of verizon contract. Changed over to verizon prepaid, get more minutes, free text and pics. Purchased a simple samsung flip phone from walmart for $15 which came with $10 of the $15 going towards the minutes. I went with $35 plan, 500 minutes. I am lucky to use 200 of my 500 minutes each month.
I could have gone to the verizon store down the road a few miles and got the exact same phone for $50. Verizon told me that if I needed to get a replacement phone it would cost me $100. Walmart told me if I need a new phone I could just buy another for $15 and keep my old verizon contract phone number. I was also able to get over 600 contact #'s transfered from verizon contract to my verizon prepaid. I'm very pleased with a simple samsung. The battery last longer than my old LG flip phone.
I never had text or pics on verizon contract. A friend did. She saved over $20 a month by switching. George
