My wife is a "gadget" person. About six or so years ago, she started advocating for a sleep number bed. I thought it was a waste of money. As you would expect, we bought a king size model.
It's by far the best mattress we've ever owned (we've been married for 51 years). We did not get the controls with the display to show the number, just two buttons for harder and softer. In retrospect, I think it would have been a good idea to have the display for my wife's sake. I just set my side to as hard as I can get it, but she moves her side up and down a little bit occassionally.
It's pricey, but I love it. If we ever have to buy another mattress, we'll definitely go for another sleep number.
