The piston was not oil washed any more around the edge than the center. the tractor had been run with that plug fouled and the cylinder was full of oil and the others dry. The intake port, exhaust port and both valves for that cylinder was washed clean. I bought the tractor to restore knowing it had a fouled cylinder. the previous owner had the engine overhauled and said it ran fine for about three years then started smoking. I will pull it back down, take the head to a machine shop and check the cylinder with an inside micrometer for warpage. Thank everyone for all the suggestions. Garnett
