I finally got the 2940 up and running and the hydralic leak fixed. I thought it was the o ring on the fitting or a cracked case. I put a new O ring in and that didn't stop the leak. I then changed out the b-nut fitting and line back to the rear of the tractor. That didn't help either. I was moving a small plastic line and saw that it went into the bottom of the hydralic pump. I ran my finger down the inside of it and felt that it had a crack in it. The fluid would spray out onto the fittings making it appear that they were leaking. I never thought the 3/8ths line had hydralic fluid in it. I cut off about 3 inches of line and reattached it to the pump. No leaks and everthing works fine now.
I have sold the farm and the tractor was a part of the final negotiations. I was told that since it was sold it was the new owners problem. Well I don't operate that way. I gave him my word that it worked and I was going to make sure it did-even if it required a new pump.
