I don't have a lot of brand loyalty but have owned both GM and Dodge over the years & had reasonably good luck with either one. I bought a 2012, 1500 quad cab, 4x4, 5.7,6sp auto, 6 1/2' box back in Feb., had 14K on it, now has 20K. Happy so far, quiet, comfortable and mileage is better than I expected. I looked at several GM's but all I found in 1/2 tons were crews with that tiny little box - not very useful - & the dealers were REALLY proud of those! I wanted a long box extended cab also, but didn't find a good low mileage one anywhere close to me. From what I saw out here, you might have to order a new one to get the long bed.
