We only ever use 4x4'6" bales here....our grass is too wet and dense to use 5s or 6s. sometimes the straw buyers like the larger bale but the vast majority of balers here are 4 footers. Wet grass silage can weigh a tonne in these bales! I use a Claas 46......And the grass is a mix of timothy, italian ryegrass, meadow fescue and even a bit of cocksfoot plus some natural stuff that just keeps creeping in! Sam
