Killed a few tons of them. I use a 30-06 just because that's my automatic and I like to have quick follow ups in case I have multiple opportunities. My buddies have used AR .223. 6.5 and one has a grendal that have all proven to do the job. Shot placement as mentioned is the trick. I like to ear hole them or right below the ear.
My 30-06 has an advantage when we're walking the slews for them. Most times we get right on top of them and only have a running away shot. In that case I can stop the bigger hogs and quickly follow up with a kill shot. Even with the hogs I like to finish the deal as humanely as possible.
