About 10 years ago I put on covers I bought at Lowes. They were $2 for a 3' section. Go on easy, slide under the bottom course of shingles and snap on the gutter edge. Trim when necessary with sissors. They've never come loose and never had a clog or needed to clean out gutters. I've got a lot of big trees around the house including a big old Sycamore with pie plate sized leaves.
