here the the receipe for the apple pie in a brown paper bag. yes, the pie is placed in a brown paper bag and then baked. the bag holds in moisture so the crust doesnt burn. btw swmbo sat in the loader bucket on the farmall h while picking apples. all safety measures were taken......
preheat oven to 425 1 - 9 or 10 inch pie crust (in pie pan) 7 cups peeled apples sliced 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 2 tablespoons flour 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg dash of salt
mix all together, place in pie crust
topping (the pie does not have a regular pie crust topping, use this instead.
1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup oatmeal 3/4 stick of butter mix all together...will be crumbly, put on top of pie.
put pie in brown paper bag. seal by folding. place on cookie sheet. bake 55 minutes.
