In farm country in northwest Washington, just a road on each side of the border, with a ditch between- no border fence, but no connections between the two. Further east, in the Cascade foothills south of Cultis Lake, BC, where both sides are forested, just a cleared strip a few feet wide, going up over the hill. Our kids had fun jumping back and forth over the border. No one there to watch.
Have had trouble in the past with east Indians coming under the border, in tunnels from a house on one side to a house on the other. US has much stricter travel restrictions on coming in than Canada, so easiest way in is to come to Canada and then across.
