You got what you were negotiating for because the US government intervened and more or less forced the railroad to comply, not because you were irreplaceable, just ask Hostess bakery workers or Air traffic controllers among others, one day you won't be so lucky or so arrogant. I have worked in my industry nearly 40 years and for the same company for 33 years and I know full well I can and will be replaced the minute the company deems it necessary or profitable to do so. You can fool yourself all you want but you are also fully replaceable. Contrary to your communist union beliefs it is not all about you, there is nothing wrong with being thankful to have a good job and working hard for your employer.
