As with any other place of the sort, stay alert for the quick buck folks. For night life be especially careful and stick to busy, well lighted areas. Spending some time on Google earth/maps using the road view will help to let you see and get an idea as to your on-off ramps, what the routes actually look like and all. You don't want to get off on the wrong ramp in parts of Dallas. Some off ramps are on the right, others on the left. Hard to change 4 or 5 lanes of traffic at the last minute.....and could get you cited.
Agree on traffic. In the mornings by 9 things have cleared out only to close back up around the noon hour. In the afternoons it starts at 3 and lasts through about 7:30.
