In reply to Massey333s remark in an earlier post re " No one including MF uses the Ferguson system any more" Well the 'Ferguson System' is used by nearly all farmers in the mechanised world today....See, the 'Ferguson System' did not directly relate to the Ferguson Patented draft control for 3 point hydraulically mounted implements ...instead the 'Ferguson System' related to the Ferguson System of mechanised Farming( to give it it's full title) Ferguson designed the 3 point lift to make life easier for us farmers. He and his teams designed implements to fit on that lift to make life easier for us farmers. But he also had a vision that by using his system farms could be more profitable and not have a need for subsidies. He introduced a hire purchase scheme to assist farmers to buy into this mechanisation. All these things we use today. This was the Ferguson System....the draft control was only part of the whole picture! Sam
