Buying a Ferguson TO-35

I am going to look at a Ferguson TO-35 gas tractor this weekend. A good friend of mine that has been working on tractors for 50 years said if it starts and has good tires buy it. I am looking to get it for $1800. Are there any particular things I should look at before I by it. I know new tractors but am not familiar with these old work horses. I am sure I will love using it and working on it I just wondered if this is a good price and what to look for as far as possible problems. The paint is good and the tires are all new. Except I have to have one of the back tires turned around.
