I have never got a fair deal despite trying to prevent getting robbed. Wieghed a 1128 lb steer on certified scales on the way to slaughter house. Had made agreement a week earlier that I wanted to be there when it was cut up. Went by with feed mill rep to inspect carcass 2 days after it was killed. Hanging weight 792 lbs. WHAT! Roll him out and weigh him again. Told me it would be of no use since the carcass looses blood and srinkage. Weigh the #@^& calf. 649 lbs. They insisted it was srinkage. Feed mill rep explained that max yield freshly killed is 60%. Owner said"this one did well, you should put it in your ads".
